The 6th ABSL Conference a roaring success

1,000 business leaders and sector stakeholders attending, over 80 speakers, 40 panel discussions and presentations - these are the most important figures summarizing the 6th ABSL Conference, held on June 16-17th 2015. The event’s main Partners were Krakow – Conference host - and Skanska.

We would like to cordially thank all our Guests, Partners and Speakers for their contribution and support. We sincerely hope your participation in the 6th ABSL Conference became a true source of inspiration as well as a an opportunity to build meaningful business partnerships.

The main theme of this year’s event was „The Powerhouse of Europe – Poland as the undisputed leader of business services on the Continent.”

The business service sector in Poland is on the right track to be one of the major driving forces of the country’s progress in the global economic arena. The sector employment numbers are soaring as is Poland’s position in the international investment attractiveness ratings. Conference participants discussed how to use the Powerhouse of Europe role in the future.

The absolute highlight of the event was a keynote address from Tony Blair, Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from 1997–2007 and one of the world’s most acknowledged political leaders. Tony Blair told the ABSL audience that Poland should be proud of its achievements and mentioned the rapid business service sector development as one of the elements of the country’s economic success.

During the 6th ABSL Conference we had the pleasure to welcome to the stage key influencers from the world of business and politics, who presented the latest megatrends within the industry and beyond:

The growing role of Poland in Europe

One of this year’s plenary sessions’ focal points was the changing role of Poland in the region and in Europe. Participants discussed how to boost the country’s economic potential. The closing panel revolved around how Poland can make its way to the  G20. The discussion was moderated by Piotr Kraśko, editor-in-chief of Wiadomości TVP, while panellists included Aleksander Kwaśniewski, former President of the Republic of Poland 1995 – 2005, Beata Stelmach, Chief Executive Officer, GE Poland & Baltics and Jan Vincent-Rostowski, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Finance. The plenary sessions were complemented by breakout streams, during which specific and most pressing challenges for business practitioners were discussed. The breakout streams focused around four main areas of business operations: fuelling growth and scope expansion, streamlining operations, talent management and making the most of the current technology mega trends. Also, a new stream was added this year – Interactive Demo Labs that gave a hands-on experience of technology solutions tailored specifically to sector needs.
